The Philosophy

Life is a balance and how we strike that balance and make value-based decisions defines who we are.   In a time when many people spend more maintaining their cars or buying the latest technology than they do on their own health and safety, it is clear that we are out of equilibrium.

The business world is similar to life, where health and safety works on a balance too.   Each company and person has their own definitions of what health and safety are and makes decisions based on their tolerance for risk.  The safest thing a company could do would be to eliminate all the people and the tasks they do.  If a company never built a project or a factory or plant never made a product it would be the safest.  Of course, for most companies this would be the end of the business.   Clearly, striking a balance on what is a tolerable level of risk is vital and SALUS serves to help find that balance.   Every person, process and procedure has inherent risk and we are never going to be able to totally eliminate them.  How we control the exposures, minimize the risks and address the challenges can profoundly impact people’s lives, literally.
